We call it Nein Buck—our way of saying ‘No Animal.’ It’s a name born from a second chance, and a promise to do things better. We're not your typical vegan spot. No kale salads. No green juices. Just damn good burgers, tacos, fries, and guilty-pleasure classics—all made 100% from plants.
We’re located in the heart of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and everything we make is house-made and proudly sourced from local Mexican producers.
Our goal? To create food that hits the same craving centers as your favorite meat-based meals—without the animal, without the guilt, and without sacrificing flavor. It’s plant-based comfort food that everyone can enjoy, not just vegans.
Our story started back in 2018, when our co-founder Chris made the switch to a plant-based lifestyle. Like many, he found himself wandering the freezer aisles in search of decent meat alternatives—only to be met with disappointment, again and again. So he got to work. As a classically trained chef from Le Cordon Bleu and a decorated Canadian Army veteran, Chris applied years of discipline, curiosity, and a whole lot of experimentation to create plant-based burgers that actually satisfy.
In 2022, Chris met Monse, a born-and-raised local and seasoned restaurateur. Their shared love for bold flavors, good food, and a better future sparked the idea for a new kind of vegan restaurant—one that’s proudly messy, indulgent, and totally unpretentious.
Nein Buck isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a rebellion against boring vegan food. Whether you're a die-hard carnivore or a seasoned herbivore, we’re here to make your taste buds question everything.
